HOW DO I FIND OUT ABOUT TWC SCHEDULES / EVENTS?
By visiting our website under “calendar” or within the SportsEngine App. Additionally, we will communicate information through the SportsEngine App or on the Facebook Triumph Parent group. If you have questions or need additional assistance, feel free to contact Coach Shane Warner at (316) 554-4918.
DOES MY WRESTLER HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY TYPE OF FUNDRAISING FOR THE CLUB?
Yes, your wrestler will participate in the club’s season kickoff fundraising activity. Our club is a recognized 501(c)(3) and is run primarily by a volunteer staff. Our team fundraiser allows us to offset our facility costs, apparel costs, team parties, and provide valuable resources for our club to continue to deliver on our Mission.
WHAT PRECAUTIONARY STEPS ARE TAKEN TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE?
Ringworm, MRSA, H1N1, COVID-19, Flu, and Common Cold concern all of us as parents of the wrestlers. To address these concerns, the Club employs the following rules:
- Wrestling Shoes are not to be worn outdoors and are to be put on the feet once the wrestler is in the practice room.
- Practice clothes should be washed and dried between practices.
- Following practice, all wrestlers should take a soapy shower or bath as soon as they arrive home. Special hygienic soaps such as DEFENSE SOAP is recommended.
- The wrestling mats are cleaned and sanitized daily by TWC staff.
- Sick or infected wrestlers will not be allowed to participate in practices. If you have any questions regarding the health of your wrestler…take the night-off, there will be plenty more practices during the season.

WHEN DOES THE CLUB PRACTICE?
Depending on the week each wrestler will normally practice 3 evenings per week. Please check the home page for specifics.
You can also check the website calendar for details, such as “No Practice” dates, due to holidays, etc.
WHAT SHOULD MY WRESTLER WEAR TO PRACTICE?
A t-shirt or compression shirt, shorts/sweatpants, wrestling shoes, and a water bottle. Triumph Wrestling Club competition singlets are not to be worn for practice. Smiles and a great attitude are highly recommended as well.
WHAT IF I CANNOT TRANSPORT MY WRESTLER TO A PRACTICE OR A TOURNAMENT?
Ask any coach for assistance, we are happy to help. Carpools make every event more fun and build team unity.
DOES MY WRESTLER HAVE TO DIET OR CUT WEIGHT TO MAKE A CERTAIN WEIGHT CLASS?
No. Wrestlers will not be encouraged to cut weight to make a certain weight class. We encourage a sensible balanced diet to provide the proper fuel to compete at their best in competition, mainly by cutting out unnecessary sweets and soda.
WHEN DOES THE CLUB PARTICIPATE IN TOURNAMENTS?
Generally, tournaments are held every Saturday from the first week in December until the middle of March. Novice tournaments for 1st and 2nd Year wrestlers are held on Sundays from December until late February.
WHAT SHOULD MY WRESTLER BRING/WEAR TO TOURNAMENTS?
Triumph Wrestling Club Team Gear, consisting of competition singlet or compression gear, Warm-up Shorts, and Dri-Fit Shirt. Wrestlers need to bring wrestling shoes, and headgear (required at all tournaments). Most wrestlers use the same shoes and headgear they use for practice. Some snacks, a handheld video game, books or small toys are often valuable for both wrestlers and their families during these events.
WHERE DO I SIT AT THE TOURNAMENT?
Look for the folks in the Triumph Wrestling Club Team Gear up in the bleachers. We will also post what sections or areas we are sitting in on our Facebook Parent Group the morning of the tournament. Being together as the Triumph Wrestling Family during tournaments provides our wrestlers with a broad support group and helps them develop stronger bonds as teammates.
